ARISEN Book Three Three Parts Dead eBook Glynn James Michael Stephen Fuchs

This entire series reminds me of an amusement park ride and you just can't wait to climb aboard again. But, what I enjoy the most is that this is a multi-layered work. On the surface it is pure fun, excitement, entertainment. However, if one reads closely the authors are challenging the reader with some exceptionally difficult questions regarding the nature of man, the nature of good/ evil, faith, love, and family. I'm probably even leaving out some.

I absolutely love the depth of the characters and the intermingling of the Cameron's story and Alpha's story. We come in at the climax-end of the Cameron's story and probably middle of the other. Sarah is remarkably complex character and it was masterful work on the part of the authors to distill 15+ years of her life into a snapshot. We are left with a huge question...What `bad thing' happened that led her to 1. Marry someone she so obviously could never love 2. Hold her son at arms length (and never introduce him by name) 3. Enable both her husband and son to depend on her as though they are both young children while believing herself to be non-maternal 4. Push away/ Run away from someone she could deeply love and would love her in return. (What happened?) It appears as though she has been in survival mode much longer that 2 years more like 15+ building walls around herself and desperately seeking to protect those around her but dreading when (not if) she will fail and loose all that she loves.

Mark is comically sad. He is probably the only person left in the world happy about the end of the world. He is well protected and cared for. It is doubtful that he really contributes in any meaningful way. Really if you are setting about to chop firewood are you going to be wearing a knit sweater - you'd burn up! Obviously he's not used to hard work. (It's not that cold because everyone is sitting outside) He has no desire to hope for a vaccine. Probably the very clothes on his back have been provided for him. He is someone completely of the previous society who believes he is entitled to what is due him. He mans up way to late in the game when the wolves are at the door and he is too inept from years of putting his head in the sand to save himself or his family.

I could not find a name for the boy. He makes us ask ourselves the questions - Could I/ Would I sacrifice what I hold most dear to save all humanity?

The threads of this series are intricately woven and wonderfully done.
Guys, please keep writing.

ARISEN Book Three Three Parts Dead eBook Glynn James Michael Stephen Fuchs Reviews

After reading the previous books in this series, I didn't dare believe they could keep up the tempo. Yes, they have! Each one is stand alone, yet you know there is more juicy reading to come in the next book. Action, action, action. This is what I am talking about. The whole series is FANTASTIC! This author knows how to get you inside a character and see not only who they are but what they are seeing. Talk about action, it is almost non-stop. Alpha team are in the USA and zombies have taken over the whole world; only the isle of Britain has remained almost untouched. They actually find a surviving family and then the zomheads catch up to them. This starts a run like the one in Chicago when they picked up the scientist. If you like military action and zombies, this one has it and more. Yes I am enthusiastic about this series, I have read them all and now am going back for a second read.
I have just finished reading Arisen 1-8. I have enjoyed all these books and love the characters. I read the first book in a compilation and had to get all the rest one after the other. The characters are so well written and you really care about them right away.

Alpha Group is totally Awesome !! It's hard to say who I liked best. Juice, Handon, Ali, Homer, and Pred !!!

You become so involved with these characters that when something happens to one of them you feel for them. You learn a great deal about Special Ops, different weapons, the heart of our Country's and England's Best of the Best of the Best to help us survive the end of the world. They are well trained people who put it on the line in conditions most of us would just give up and die in.

I can't wait for book number 9 to come out and will get the prequels while I'm waiting. I have found two new author's that I like and will search out other books by them, and look forward to reading them. I don't like to tell about the books I read because it spoils it for people who have yet to read them. I hope everyone gets these books. They are really good stories, really good characters except for a really bad guy living alone way far away - he will be back.....Oh No !!!!

I hope everyone enjoys these books as much as I have they rock it in the book world !!!
Alpha team made it to a sailboat in their escape from Chicago. They are out on Lake Michigan thinking they will make it to exfil. Of course nothing is ever that simple.

The dead can't swim but they can walk and they walked out into the lake and attack the sailboat from the bottom. Alpha has to leap overboard and swim to shore. A shore where more walkers are waiting.

Sarah Cameron is an ex Toronto police officer.Sarah her husband and son are holed up in a cabin they built in the wilderness.

So far they haven't had to fight the walkers much. Sarah is a stickler for silence and doing nothing that will lead the walkers to the homeplace. She's one very capable lady. Much more capable than her husband and son.

Sarah sees Alpha team and decides to not reveal herself to them. She decides this until she sees another woman, Ali. Sarah changes her mind and decides to help the men and one woman she's looking at.

So begins another fine read from James and Fuchs.

This one has Alpha team, the Camerons, an idiot of a son, a useless husband, a growing attraction for Handon, a Homer who makes a decision, death, explosions, Drake on the JFK trying to find a way to exfil the team, Wesley finding a WWII B-17, Wesley also finding an entire warehouse full of guns and ammo, tons of guns and ammo, Fick and his Force Recon marines holding the fort on Beaver Island waiting for Alpha and exfil, the ongoing fight in Britain, loads of walking dead and one super fine story.

Five Stars.
